Music is meant to speak to the soul, to transport the listener to another space on a different plane of understanding. If the artist does her job, the listener is taken to a place deep inside the realm of emotional connectivity; I’m supposed to feel the words you sing, experience the story you tell through the melody of your voice. Listening to you took me somewhere deep tonight; after a couple of careful playbacks I had to write to you, if not for any other reason than to tell you that tonight, your music made me smile. And I haven’t smiled in a long time. It’s refreshing to hear something, someone different. Thank you, Kiyomi.
